On the 27th of March 2022 in partnership with Business for Health and many other stakeholders, Active City Development Program hosted a walk for World TB Day.

The NCDC PHA Disease Control Coordinator, Dr. Morimai Ipai urged the listeners to take responsibility for their health and stated that there are over 6000 TB cases diagnosed annually in NCD alone.

Governor for NCD Hon Powes Parkop in his speech, thanked the partners and communities for raising public awareness on TB in the nation’s capital. He encouraged everyone to share the day’s message so that those who were not able to attend the walk would also become aware of TB and how early treatment can save lives.

“We must all make it our business to get tested in order to receive early treatment from clinics. Share the information you are receiving today, with your family and your communities.” Attendees included NCDC PHA, United Nations agencies, Business for Health, the National Department of Health, the Australian High Commission, Airways Residences, Nambawan Super Limited, women’s groups, health experts, non-governmental organizations and communities
