ACDP youth participated in the World Tourism Day Awareness at Ela Beach on Sunday 26th September. The event was organized by the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority and NCDC Tourism Burau to promote tourism in PNG under the 2021 global theme: “Tourism and Inclusive Growth.”
World Tourism Day Awareness was organized by the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority and NCDC Tourism Division to promote tourism in PNG under the 2021 global theme: “Tourism and Inclusive Growth. The ACDP PNG Circus, B-Boys crew, ACDP Elite Dance team and the Unity Dance by the communities displayed an amazing energetic show at Ela Beach.
The Unity dance was performed by 11 groups from the urban communities in the nation’s capital organized and choregraphed by ACDP. 100 women and youths danced together showcasing the unique culture and traditions uniting the 22 provinces of Papua New Guinea living in NCD.
The Unity Dance, the shows and all other ACDP activities was a demonstration of community healing, inclusivity, gender empowerment and equality showing how dance and other physical activities can be effectively used for skills development and nation building.
The program ran from 3PM to 6PM with distribution of information and entertainment. It was 2-day event of the PNG TPA leading up to the actual day which was commemorated on the 27th September annually around the world.
